Tour Route
We start in Edinburgh and travel north on the M9 to Perth, passing through beautiful Perthshire to Crieff, famous for its whisky and the Famous Grouse distillery. The tour continues up to Loch Earn in the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, and onward to Lochearnhead and through Glen Ogle.
After visiting The Green Welly Stop in Tyndrum for a quick break, we will pass the Bridge of Orchy and Loch Tulla, which boasts wonderful landscape photography opportunities. We will also see the famous Blackrock Cottage in Glen Coe, with the stunning Buachaille Etive Moore in the background.
Weather permitting, we will turn into Glen Etive for a further photo opportunity. The river Etive route includes locations seen in the films Skyfall and Braveheart, in addition to the awe-inspiring natural beauty of the Highlands.
Alternatively, we will drive past the Three Sisters of Glen Coe, the highest peaks in old Argyll, and the site of the historic Glencoe Massacre, looking downhill towards the mouth of the Glen Coe valley.
As we drop into Glen Coe village, we’ll visit the Clachaig Inn Bar, which boasts a wide selection of drinks for you to enjoy. Upon departure, we’ll stop at a hidden loch and the Clachaig falls, shingled with Loch Leven, passing Ballachullash, which links up to the shores of Loch Linnhe.
Travelling up the A828, we will find Castle Stalker, located on a tiny tidal inlet, and famously featured in Monty Python And The Holy Grail. We can also arrange a private tour of Kilchurn Castle, with its spectacular views of the loch and surrounding hills.
Finally, as we head south nearing Glasgow, it will soon be time to say farewell and ‘until we meet again’ to new friends. Great Scottish Tours hopes that you have enjoyed this incredible experience.
