Mull and The Isles of Iona Abbey Tour

3 Day, 2 Night Tour

The first part of the tour passes through beautiful Perthshire to Crieff, famous for its whisky, and up to Loch Earn, in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Continuing west to Oban, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the south side of Loch Etive and smoked salmon from the local smokehouse.

Heading onwards, we reach Oban and its spectacular views over to the Isle of Mull. Mull is the second largest island of the Inner Hebrides and the largest island in the area of Argyll and Bute. It is the first of the Inner Hebrides islands which we will visit, crossing the Sound of Mull by ferry.

After disembarking at Craignure, we turn left along the single-track road to Fionnphort. There is a good chance of spotting some highland ‘coos’ as we travel through Mull's magnificent scenery on the short journey to Fionnphort, where we will enjoy our first overnight stay at Achnacriche House.

Isle of Iona Abbey Tour

2-Day Tour with an Overnight Stay

Located on the Isle of Iona just off the Isle of Mull, Iona Abbey was founded by St Columba and his Irish followers in AD 563. Restored at the beginning of the 20th century, the abbey church and chapel remain a celebrated focus of Christian pilgrimage. As well as offering plenty of sightseers, Mull and Iona are known as unforgettable photography experiences.

We will pick you up from your selected departure point and take you to the seaside town of Oban, which boasts spectacular view of the Isle of Mull. What’s more, the town is surrounded by castles, beaches, and west coast islands. Oban is always bursting with visitors enjoying fish and chips and peeking into the town’s tearooms and craft shops.

For most visitors, Oban is the jumping off point for a holiday in the Hebridean isles. Ferries run to Lismore, Colonsay, Islay, Coll, Tiree, Mull, Barra and South Uist, with Oban being by far the most popular port on Scotland’s northwestern coast. With activities like diving, sea kayaking, hiking, and cycling, Oban is also a base for outdoor enthusiasts.

We will then cross the Sound of Mull by ferry. After disembarking at Craignure, we turn left along the single-track road to Fionnphort. There is a good chance of spotting some highland ‘coos’ as we travel through Mull's magnificent scenery on the short journey to Fionnphort, where we will make our way to tour Iona Abbey, returning to Tobermory for an overnight stay at Achaban House.
